ABLC founder Ahmed Bukallah unveiled his book, “The Journey of the Aviation Sector in the UAE – COVID-19 Pandemic,” at the 43rd Sharjah International Book Fair — and personally presented copies to officials and dignitaries across the UAE and beyond.

Presented at a featured session of the 43rd Sharjah International Book Fair, the book offers an in-depth account of the pandemic’s impact on the UAE’s aviation industry — the challenges it faced, the strategic responses that followed, and the recovery measures now shaping the sector. Spanning 88 years of UAE aviation history, from the establishment of the GCC’s first airport in Sharjah’s Al Qasimia area, it traces how the industry’s rapid growth was reshaped by the crisis.

“This book is not only a narrative on the pandemic’s impact on aviation; it’s a blueprint for resilience and adaptation,” Bukallah remarked. “It showcases the commitment and ingenuity of an industry that remains essential to global connectivity.”

Following the launch, Ahmed Bukallah presented copies in person to officials, aviation leaders, academics and diplomats — from UAE government offices to Air Arabia, the University of Sharjah, the Arab Civil Aviation Organization and beyond. A selection of those moments is below.
